Bernadette Malavarca

Bernadette Malavarca is an experienced editor and music artist with a strong background in educational publishing and a focus on developmental editing. Since 2020, Bernadette has worked as a Freelance Editor for Teachers College Press. In November 2018, a role as Senior Project Editor at Macmillan Learning began, involving oversight of college-level educational materials and management of the reprint correction process. Additional expertise includes copyediting for Public Books and past freelancing with Scholastic and Tom Tom Magazine. Previously, Bernadette served as Senior Editor at Hal Leonard Performing Arts Publishing Group, where responsibilities included developing an extensive range of titles and managing production across imprints. Bernadette holds a BA in English from William Paterson University of New Jersey and is currently pursuing an MA in Mental Health Counseling at Montclair State University.
