John Ioannou has extensive work experience in the tax and legal industry. John is currently working as the Chair of the National Engagement Committee at The Tax Institute since April 2022. Prior to this, they held the same role at Macpherson Kelley. Before that, they worked as a Principal Lawyer in tax structuring, tax disputes, and commercial matters at Macpherson Kelley starting in November 2020. John has also served as a Partner at Deloitte Australia from September 2018 to October 2020, and as a Partner at McCullough Robertson from April 2013 to August 2018.
John Ioannou obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from The University of Queensland from 1995 to 2001. John then pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) degree at Queensland University of Technology from 2001 to 2003. In addition, they hold certifications as a Chartered Tax Adviser Member from The Tax Institute, which they obtained in 2022.
