Stephen Guerrera

Engineering Lead, National Security at Macro-Eyes

Stephen Guerrera is Engineering Lead, National Security at macro-eyes. With a depth of experience in augmented reality programs for the US Government, Stephen completed his PhD in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2015. At MIT, his focus was on semiconductor devices and solid-state physics. Stephen's adviser was Akintunde Ibitayo Akinwande and his dissertation was on a novel field emission electron source composed of silicon nanowires embedded in a dielectric matrix. His work was featured at the International Electron Device Meeting (IEDM).

Prior to joining macro-eyes, Stephen was the Vice President of Engineering at Creative Microsystems. There, he led the engineering effort on a variety of government-sponsored programs including work on high brightness and wide field of view augmented reality systems, free-space optical communications systems and embedded, low power machine learning systems. He excels at bridging the gaps from fundamental physics to electronic hardware to software.
