Mathuriga Thavarajah

Mathuriga Thavarajah has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Mathuriga is currently working as a Senior Automation Engineer at Macrometa since March 2022. In this role, they are responsible for analyzing requirements, creating and maintaining test case plans and automation, and researching and implementing newer test automation technologies.

Prior to their current role, Mathuriga worked at Deriv as a Software Specialist from February 2021 to February 2022. Here, they collaborated closely with various teams to create and run different types of testing for trading and financial applications. Mathuriga also monitored the software release process, integrated testing into workflows, and ensured the integrity of releases. Mathuriga was involved in software requirement analysis, provided training on automation tests, and contributed to internal tools for automating manual tasks.

From 2018 to 2020, Mathuriga worked at WSO2 as both a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer. In these roles, they developed tools, provided assistance in governing security aspects of products, and conducted research on security domain. Mathuriga worked on design documents, performed coding and testing, resolved technical issues, and conducted design and code reviews. Mathuriga also had responsibilities in the security domain, such as reproducing and identifying application security vulnerabilities, enforcing security best practices, conducting security scans, and preparing security advisories. Mathuriga also handled support tickets raised by customers related to WSO2 Identity Server and Security.

In 2017, Mathuriga worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Presentation Skills at the University of Moratuwa, and in 2016, they had a software engineer internship at WSO2. In the internship role, they worked on projects related to complex event processing and backend development.

Mathuriga Thavarajah's education history begins in 1998 at Vavuniya Rampaikulam Girls' Maha Vidyalayam, where they studied until 2006. Mathuriga then attended Hindu Ladies College from 2006 to 2012, focusing on the field of Maths. In 2014, Mathuriga enrolled at the University of Moratuwa and completed their BSc(Eng) degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2017. After a gap year, they pursued further education at Cardiff Metropolitan University from 2019 to 2020, obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Project Management.
