Daniel Featherstone is the founder of Made For Drink, a company that produces a range of snacks that pair well with drinks. Since its launch in 2016, the company has experienced a 117% compound annual growth rate and has sold 1.5 million packs. They have secured major listings with prestigious establishments such as The Fat Duck, Waitrose, Sainsburys, and Fortnums, and have partnerships with Laurent Perrier, English Heritage, and Molson Coors. Made For Drink was also the winner of the Edie Sustainablility Leadership Award in 2022.
In 2020, Daniel co-founded The Exmoor Carbon Project, which owns and manages woodland on Exmoor National Park with the goals of carbon sequestration, increasing biodiversity, protecting ancient trees and woodland, and supporting rural employment. The primary aim of the project is to ensure that Made For Drink is carbon neutral.
Before starting their own businesses, Daniel worked at Concha y Toro UK as the Marketing Manager for the Cono Sur and Isla Negra brands. During their time there, they helped grow the Cono Sur brand from £9 million to £24 million in RSV in just two years and grew the Isla Negra brand by over £10 million in RSV, making it a top 26 alcohol brand. The company was also named the top alcohol supplier by The Grocer.
Prior to their role at Concha y Toro, Daniel worked at PepsiCo, first in Walkers Marketing from June 2011 to August 2014, then in Quaker Marketing from September 2010 to May 2011, and finally in Sales from September 2007 to September 2010. Before entering the marketing industry, Daniel worked as a Consultant at Hydrogen Group from June 2006 to July 2007.
Daniel Featherstone attended West Buckland School, a co-ed day and boarding school for 3-18 year olds in North Devon, from 1990 to 1999 where they completed their A-Levels. Daniel then went on to study at the University of Kent from 2000 to 2003, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Anthropology with a Second Class, Division One (2.1) classification. In 2004, Daniel attended UCL and completed their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Human Evolution and Behaviour, achieving a First Class with Distinction. Additionally, Daniel also obtained a Level 2 Distinction qualification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, although the specific timeframe for their studies in this field is unknown.
