Cayley Pater

Cayley Pater is an experienced professional with a background in ethical fashion, global partnerships, and documentary film production. Cayley has held various roles since 2009, beginning with a Fulbright English language teaching assistant in Vienna, Austria. Cayley then worked as a Global Partnerships/Girl Up campaign intern at the United Nations Foundation in 2010. In 2009, they were a Project Manager for a documentary film on a women's empowerment initiative with Seva Mandir. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Research Assistant for Hindi language STARTALK program at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Hindi language interpreter and operations assistant at Symbology Clothing in 2012. From 2013 to 2014, they were the Director of US Operations and Marketing at Darzah, where they built the Darzah ethical fashion brand from initial concept to established online retail, wholesale and private label business in the US. In 2018, they became the Founder & CEO of Made Trade, where they celebrate the world's makers, their art forms, their craft and their stories.

Cayley Pater obtained a Master's Degree in Women's and Gender Studies from Central European University in 2013, and a Master's Degree in Women's and Gender Studies with Highest Honors from Universidad de Granada in 2013. From 2007 to 2012, Pater was part of the Critical Language Scholarship program through the U.S. State Department and studied Hindi/Urdu languages at the American Institute of Indian Studies in Jaipur and Lucknow, India. Pater also obtained a BA (Honors & Phi Beta Kappa) in Linguistics & Hindi/Urdu from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009.
