Bryon Campbell has over 30 years of experience in information technology leadership roles. Bryon has served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Madison County Commission since 2019. In this position, they are responsible for overseeing the county's IT environment and providing strategic direction aligned with business objectives. Prior to joining Madison County, Campbell worked as the CIO for Van Andel Institute for 20 years, where they implemented enhanced processes and technology solutions to increase operational efficiencies. Bryon also served as the Director of Technical Services at CMS Energy and IT Manager (Technical Architecture) at Pharmacia & Upjohn. Campbell has extensive expertise in cybersecurity, compliance, and executive management in the IT field.
Bryon Campbell holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science, which they obtained from Southwest University between 1994 and 1996. Additionally, they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the same university during the period of 1994 to 1995. Prior to that, Bryon obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Western Michigan University, which they completed between 1990 and 1995.
In terms of certifications, Bryon holds an ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management, awarded by AXELOS Global Best Practice in March 2019. Furthermore, they are a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), certified by ISACA in August 2018.
