Tana Elias

Tana Elias has served as the Library Director at Madison Public Library since April 1995, overseeing budget, strategy, and operations while coordinating with the library's Executive and Management Teams. Previous roles include Digital Services & Marketing Manager, where Tana directed communications and key campaigns such as the Central Library and Pinney Library grand openings, and Library Web Resources Coordinator, establishing a web resources department. Tana also served as a Web Librarian and part-time reference librarian at Meadowridge Library. In addition to practical experience, Tana has contributed to education by instructing reference courses at UW-Madison CDIS. Tana holds a Master of Arts in Library Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Arts in History and English from Hamline University.
