Jonathan Chuang

Jonathan Chuang is a skilled software engineer and contributor in the fields of machine learning and systems, with notable experience at various prominent organizations. Currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at Magic since March 2024, Jonathan has previously held significant roles, including ML Systems Consultant and top contributor at PyTorch, where over 500 contributions influenced key components of the platform. Experience includes software engineering at LlamaIndex and RisingWave Labs, where work focused on large language model applications, SQL stream processing, and contributing to open source development. Jonathan co-founded Socean Labs, successfully launching a stake pool product on Solana, and worked on performance optimization of cryptographic systems at cLabs. Research experience includes GPU acceleration of homomorphic encryption libraries at the University of Cambridge and participation in award-winning reinforcement learning projects at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Jonathan Chuang earned a BA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge.
