Hossein Daraei

Hossein Daraei is a Lead 3D Reconstruction Researcher at Magic Leap since January 2023, previously serving as a Research Scientist at Meta Reality Labs with a focus on eye tracking from September 2018 to September 2022. Daraei's academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Master's in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same institution. With extensive experience in sensor fusion for autonomous driving, Daraei's research efforts have included internships at Volkswagen Group of America, where contributions extended from developing stereoscopic vision systems to adapting algorithms for CUDA-enabled devices. Teaching roles at the University of California, Santa Cruz and Sharif University of Technology highlight Daraei's expertise in signals and systems, circuits, communication systems, and digital signal processing.
