Edward Thorley

Edward Thorley has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry spanning over 13 years. Edward is currently the Co-Founder and CTO of Magicave Limited, a position they have held since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Yakuto as the Head Of Game Engineering from September 2019 to October 2021, and as a Senior Developer from November 2018 to September 2019.

Edward's earlier experience includes working at The Secret Police as the Lead Coder from April 2015 to October 2018, where they played a key role in developing the tactical battle RPG Dragon's Watch. Edward was responsible for developing supporting systems and project management of the code team.

Before that, they worked at nDreams as a Programmer from July 2013 to April 2015, focusing on developing games and experiences for virtual reality platforms. Edward also worked at Boss Level as a Software Developer from January 2012 to June 2013, gaining experience in HTML5 cross-platform game development.

Edward's career started at Detica, where they worked as a Software Developer from December 2009 to December 2011, focusing on software development and working in a specialist development team. Edward also had a brief stint as an Online Moderator at Jagex in 2008, where they contributed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable gaming environment for players of the MMORPG game, Runescape.

Edward Thorley completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics at The University of Manchester from 2004 to 2007. Edward then pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at Imperial College London from 2008 to 2009.
