Nelson Verissimo

Nelson Verissimo serves as the Country Director at MAG (Mines Advisory Group) since July 2020, having previously held the role of Programme Officer for MAG Angola. Prior experience includes serving as a Technical Expert at KPMG España and Technical Advisor at CIVIPOL CONSEIL, focusing on mine action and capacity development funded by the European Union. Nelson also contributed to the UNDP as Chief Technical Advisor for a project in support of the Angolan National Demining Institute, and held prior positions with UNHCR, The HALO Trust, Project HOPE, and Oxfam IBIS, demonstrating a strong background in humanitarian and development projects across Africa. Educational qualifications include an ongoing Master of Science in Project Management from the University of Liverpool and a Bachelor of Laws from UCM, complemented by Project Management certifications from the International Business Management Institute.
