Brandy Nelson is an experienced educational leader with a diverse portfolio of roles in academia and educational organizations. Currently serving as an adjunct professor at Bank Street College of Education and as the fractional Chief Academic Officer at Magpie Literacy, Nelson is committed to enhancing student learning and reading proficiency. As the founder and CEO of NELSON.ROOTS, LLC, Nelson supports various stakeholders, while also holding positions such as Academic Director at AERDF - Reading Reimagined and Partner at Rethinc. Nelson's prior experience includes significant leadership roles at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where responsibilities included overseeing a large team and managing a substantial budget. With a Doctor of Education in Administration and Supervision and extensive experience in program design and curriculum implementation, Brandy Nelson is dedicated to fostering educational excellence and student advocacy.
