Matthew Den Boer has had a varied work experience. Matthew began their career in 2007 as an HVAC Craftsman for the Michigan Air National Guard, and in 2012 they became a CAD and CNC Tutor at Grand Valley State University. In the same year, they also began work as a Design Engineer at JR Automation. In 2017, they moved to Axis Company, LLC as a Design Engineer, and in 2018 they became a Mechanical Engineer at Integrated Packaging Machinery. In 2019, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Axis Automation before founding Motility LLC in 2020, where they worked as a Founder and Mechanical Engineer. In 2022, they began working as an Application Engineer at Magswitch Technology, Inc. and as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Lightship.

Matthew Den Boer attended Mancelona High School from 2003 to 2007. Matthew then attended Grand Rapids Community College from 2007 to 2011, where they studied Mechanical Drafting and Mechanical Drafting CAD/CADD. In 2011, they began attending Grand Valley State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E.) in Mechanical Engineering in 2015. Matthew also attended the Community College of the Air Force from 2008 to 2014, where they earned an Associate's degree in Electrical and Mechanical Systems. In 2015, they returned to the Community College of the Air Force and obtained an Associate of Applied Sciences in Education and Training Management in 2018. In 2009, they obtained an EPA Universal Refrigerant certification from the United States Air Force.
