Currently serving as the Support Services Manager at Mahkota Medical Centre since November 2019, Vijiyan oversees the planning and development of hospital services, focusing on the assessment and establishment of appropriate procedures and policies. Prior to this role, Vijiyan was the Head of Safety, Security, Maintenance, and Housekeeping at Nilai Medical Centre from May 2012 to November 2019, where responsibilities included the development and implementation of comprehensive safety and health practices in compliance with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). Vijiyan also accumulated significant experience as a Police Officer at SATS Ltd. from March 1996 to April 2012, leading the Security department and ensuring the safety of Changi Airport's assets, employees, and guests.

Mahkota Medical Centre (MMC) has established itself as a tertiary hospital of repute in Malaysia and in the region, providing quality medical services at affordable rates. Managed and owned by Health Management International Ltd (HMI), the hospital plays a vital part in the healthcare group’s operations. HMI was listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) in 1999.
