Chief Technology Officer at Maicelium Biomaterials

Barak Dror, PhD, MBA, currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of Maicelium Biomaterials, where leadership in biotechnology is focused on developing sustainable alternatives through innovative fungal-based bioprocesses. Previously, at The Mediterranean Food Lab, Barak led product discovery, combining microbiology and data science to explore novel flavor compounds, and also contributed as a Senior Scientist overseeing fermentation research. Additional experience includes roles as a Teaching Assistant at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, a Technology Evaluation Consultant for venture capital firms, Co-Founder of the FaculTech Students' Entrepreneurship Club, and a Data Scientist Intern at Indigo. Barak holds a PhD in Biotechnology and an MBA in Biomed from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, along with a Master’s in Plant Pathology and a Bachelor’s in Ecology from Tel Aviv University.
