Jack Choueka

Chair, Orthopedic Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center

Dr. Jack Choueka is the Chairman of the Orthopedic Surgery and Musculoskeletal Services at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Choueka completed his residency at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, and his fellowship at the University of Chicago Hospital. Dr. Jack Choueka is President of the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand and former President of the Brooklyn Orthopedic Society. He has received numerous research grants and continually presents his work at national and international meetings. He has published numerous articles on a variety of topics, including rotator cuff repair, flexor tendon repair, and new devices and techniques in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Choueka's extensive knowledge of engineering allows him to provide his patients with the most advanced care and treatments available. His philosophy is to utilize any methods possible to avoid surgery for his patients. If surgery is necessary, minimally-invasive procedures can be performed which allow patients to get their function back quicker. Dr. Choueka has received many honors throughout his career, and is a recent recipient of the Joseph H. Boyes Award for Excellence in Hand Research.
