Ildiko Polyak is a seasoned scientific professional with extensive experience in the fields of pre-clinical research and project management. Currently serving as Scientific Manager I at MaineHealth Institute for Research since February 2022, Ildiko previously held roles at Biogen, including Senior Associate Scientist and Associate Scientist III, focusing on improving PET imaging diagnostics for neurodegenerative diseases through biomarkers research. Additional experience includes managing a non-profit initiative for The Year of the Right Whale, overseeing the establishment of an Ex Vivo lab department at Invicro, LLC, and managing a veterinary pathology diagnostics laboratory at Specialty VetPath. Ildiko began scientific career in disease diagnostics support for the PNW shellfish industry at AquaTechnics and has foundational experience as a Lab Assistant and Science Coordinator at The Ocean Alliance. Ildiko holds a Master of Science in Pathobiological Sciences from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Clark University.
