Robert Friesel

Robert Friesel currently serves as a Visiting Scientist at the MaineHealth Institute for Research since January 2024. Previously, Robert held the position of Director of Research at the National Psoriasis Foundation from December 2021 to December 2023, and was a Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine from 2010 to December 2021. At Maine Medical Center, Robert worked from 2004 to December 2021 as a Faculty Scientist III and Director of the Center for Molecular Medicine, where Robert led research on angiogenesis and skeletal biology and supervised laboratory staff. Robert's earlier role at Maine Medical Center from 1998 to 2003 as a Scientist II involved similar responsibilities in NIH-funded research. Robert earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from The George Washington University and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Guilford College.
