Jim Atkinson

Jim Atkinson is currently a Senior System Engineer at MaineHealth since December 2020, following a long tenure at Sappi North America where Jim served in various roles from March 1986 to November 2020, including Project Manager and Project Leader. At Sappi North America, Jim was the technical lead for Exchange systems, PKI, and Citrix XenApp, contributing to Active Directory, RightFax, SQL, and McAfee ePO. Jim transitioned through different positions beginning as an R&D Technician and Technologist, where initial work focused on raw materials evaluation in the Pulping Technology group before moving into IT in support of the R&D site. Jim pursued education at the University of Southern Maine from 1997 to 1999 and earned an Associate of Science in Marine Science from Southern Maine Community College between 1981 and 1983.
