Dr. Sarah Shepherd is the current President of the Southern Maine Health Care Medical Staff. She is Board Certified in both and Emergency Medicine and Neuromuscular Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.
Dr. Shepherd received her Bachelor of Science degree from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado, followed by her Doctorate of Osteopathy at the University Of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM) in Biddeford, Maine. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Shepherd completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Midwestern University-Kingman Regional Medical Center in Kingman, Arizona. Following this, she returned to Maine and completed an additional +1 residency in Neuromuscular Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine also through UNECOM.
Dr. Shepherd has been practicing at SMHC since 2013 and also serves as a Medical Examiner for the State of Maine. Dr. Shepherd has an interest in medical leadership and quality improvement.
