Thanh Tran

Thanh Tran, CISSP, HITRUST CCSFP has extensive work experience in the field of technology and cybersecurity. Thanh began their career at Emerson Hospital, where they served as the Interim CIO, Senior Director of Technology Services, and HIPAA Security Officer for over a decade. During their time there, they implemented various technology improvements and ensured compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Later, Thanh joined Cornerstone Advisors as a Practice Director, Technology Services, where they provided interim technology resources and developed technology improvement programs for multiple health systems. Thanh also established an internal technology program to enhance the firm's consulting resources.

Thanh then joined Ernst & Young, where they served as part of the Information Technology Risk Transformation team. In this role, they assessed security frameworks and conducted security risk assessments for clients, including Fortune 500 health plans. Thanh also played a key role in preparing organizations for OCR HIPAA Privacy and Security audits.

Currently, Thanh is the VP and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at MaineHealth. In this position, they lead the technology strategic plan, IT operations, service delivery, cybersecurity program, and IT infrastructure engineering. Thanh has successfully executed a comprehensive technology transformation to support the migration to Epic EMR and implemented various new technology solutions.

Throughout their career, Thanh has demonstrated their expertise in cybersecurity, technology management, and compliance with healthcare regulations. Thanh'sexperience and knowledge make him a valuable asset in the field.

Thanh Tran, CISSP, HITRUST CCSFP has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in MIS/Accounting from Babson College, which was obtained from 1991 to 1995. Thanh attended Brockton High School from 1989 to 1991 and Walled Lake Western High School from 1987 to 1989. Thanh Tran also holds additional certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®) obtained in October 2013 and HITRUST Certified CSF Practitioner (CCSFP) from HITRUST, obtained in 2018.
