Saku Lehtinen

Creative Director at Mainframe Industries

Saku Lehtinen is a Finnish game developer and artist who has been in the industry since 1989. Saku is currently the Creative Director at Mainframe Industries, but they have also worked with Remedy Entertainment Plc for over 20 years.

Lehtinen originally joined Remedy in 1996 as a game developer and artist. Saku worked as a level designer, environment artist, and cinematic director on games such as Max Payne (2001) and Alan Wake (2010). These triple-A games have sold over 12 million copies in total.

After working on the concept of Quantum Break (2016), Lehtinen shifted to iOS production and Agents of Storm (2014). Saku re-joined Quantum Break as Cinematic Supervisor, making sure that the game's cinematics were of world-class quality.

Over the years, Lehtinen has led the art team and been deeply involved in the development of game engines and tools. Saku's work has also included level design, environment art, character design, visual ID development, game franchise development, game design, music direction, and audio production. Two years working with Unity and iOS broadened their spectrum in the F2P world and touch screen devices.

Saku Lehtinen is an architect who studied at the Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, a technical university in Finland.

Saku Lehtinen reports to Thor Gunnarsson, CEO. They work with Sulka Haro - Design Director, Ansu Lönnberg - Head of Studio, and Reynir Harðarson - Game Director.
