Andrew Young

Andrew Young has a diverse work experience in the field of storage systems engineering and administration. Andrew started their career at Smurfit-Stone as a Storage Administrator, where they implemented and managed Tivoli Storage Manager servers on AIX and Windows systems. Andrew also designed and implemented automation solutions for TSM maintenance and disaster recovery. From 2006 to 2008, Andrew worked as a TSM Architect at Insight Global (for IBM Global Services), where they designed and managed multi-platform TSM environments and provided support for TSM administrators and engineers. Andrew then joined Mainline Information Systems as a Senior Systems Engineer, deploying storage appliances and performing data migrations and systems integration across all 50 states. At EMC, Andrew worked as a Senior System Engineer, educating customers on EMC's Data Protection products and Next-Gen cloudy storage. Andrew was part of a team that maintained growth in the commercial vertical and provided customers with IT solutions. In their current role as a Storage Systems Engineer at Mainline Information Systems, Andrew has been involved in various projects ranging from data migrations to SAN network overhauls, with a particular interest in high-risk projects.

Andrew Young attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville from 1996 to 1999, where they studied Electrical Engineering. Andrew did not obtain a degree from the university. In addition to their education, they have obtained several certifications from Dell EMC, including Specialist - Technology Architect, VMAX3 Solutions Version 1.0 in January 2020, Associate - Information Storage and Management Version 3.0 (DCA-ISM) in July 2019, Specialist - Implementation Engineer, Dell EMC Unity Solutions Version 1.0 (DCS-IE) in July 2019, Specialist - Implementation Engineer, Data Domain Version 1.0 in September 2014, Specialist - Technology Architect, Backup Recovery Solutions Version 6.0 in January 2014, and Associate - Backup Recovery in September 2012.
