Michael Carstens

Michael Carstens is a qualified civil engineer with extensive experience in project management and engineering roles across various companies. Currently serving as a Civil Project Engineer at MainPower New Zealand Limited since October 2022, Michael previously held the position of Senior Project Manager at Higgins, where responsibilities included overseeing the NZTA Weigh Right Programme. Earlier roles include Project Manager at Fletcher Construction, where Michael contributed to significant projects such as the North Canterbury Transport Infrastructure Recovery and the Christchurch City Council's Bells Creek Land Drainage Recovery Programme. Michael's career also features roles as Site Engineer on notable projects like the Victoria Park Tunnel and New Lynn Rail Trench, and as Design Engineer at Scott Wilson and Grontmij Group. Michael holds a Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Civil Engineering Technology from Unitec and a New Zealand Diploma in Civil Engineering from CPIT.
