Antonio Carvalho e Castro

Antonio Carvalho e Castro is a Junior Designer for RTW Womenswear at Maison Margiela since January 2022, previously serving as a Design Consultant and collaborating with MISS SIXTY in mid-2020. Prior experience at Maison Margiela includes roles in the Artisanal Collection, where responsibilities encompassed embroidery and feathers as well as assisting in the fabric department under John Galliano's creative direction from September 2017 to July 2019. Additional experience includes working as a Hand Weaver Developer and Textile Designer for John Alexander Skelton from late 2016 to early 2018 and an internship at TREND UNION / LI EDELKOORT in early 2017. Academically, Antonio holds a Master of Arts in Apparel and Textiles from Central Saint Martins, University of The Arts London (October 2019 - March 2021), and a BA in Textiles from the same institution (September 2012 - July 2016), along with a foundation degree and a high school diploma in related fields.
