As Chief Financial Officer of Major League Soccer and Soccer United Marketing, Sean Prendergast oversees finance and risk management.
Prendergast manages all financial reporting, projections and cash management, and has been involved in the League’s negotiations related to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, expansion and broadcast/sponsor contracts.
Prendergast has served as CFO since 2004. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1995 from Binghamton University. Prior to joining MLS, he worked as an auditor at Ernst & Young and as manager of financial reporting at Young & Rubicam. Prendergast earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Washington in 2004.
