Gigi Birchfield

Gigi Birchfield is the Partner Emeritus of the Los Angeles office for In-House Counsel Recruiting.

In January of 2001, Gigi opened the Los Angeles office, followed closely by the San Diego and Orange County offices. She was responsible for building and managing all of the Southern California offices for several years after their inception and was Managing Partner of the Los Angeles office. Gigi has held various management positions at the firm such as Office Practice Leader and Regional Practice Manager (In-House) for In-House Counsel Recruiting. Her recruiting practice has focused primarily on conducting in-house searches across industry lines, both nationwide and local, with a special emphasis on the placement of senior attorneys, including chief legal officers and general counsel. Notable recent placements include General Counsel for USC, Caltech, dosist, Arrow Electronics, and Irvine Company, as well as multiple searches for Monster, Herbalife, and City of Hope.

Gigi resides in the Los Feliz area with her husband and their two dogs, her three kids having flown the nest recently. She is proud to say that her eldest daughter is a graduate of her alma mater, Claremont McKenna College, while her middle daughter graduated from USC (Fight On!) and her son attended the University of Colorado, Boulder. Gigi is very involved with her alma mater, having been a past president and board member of the Claremont McKenna College Alumni Association as well as an ex-officio member of CMC's Board of Trustees. Gigi also serves on the Board of the Berger Institute for Individual and Social Development at CMC and is very proud to be a long-time supporter of The Rape Treatment Center and Stuart House in Santa Monica.

Gigi began her legal career at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker in Los Angeles, where she practiced law for six years as a real estate transactional attorney. In 1992, she joined Citicorp Real Estate Inc. as assistant general counsel in its Los Angeles office, where she was responsible for supervising the legal function for all of the CREI offices in the Western region: Los Angeles, Orange County and San Francisco.
