James Lee

James Lee is a Managing Director with In-House Counsel Recruiting and is based in the New York office. He focuses on placing general counsel, in-house counsel and senior compliance professionals into global, national and regional companies. He has experience working with companies in many different industries, including financial services, technology, consumer products, industrials, insurance and entertainment.

James also conducts high-level legal searches for impact investing firms and has been helping companies and law firms develop their ESG practices and initiatives through strategic hires.

James grew up in NYC and spent several years in Seoul and London prior to his legal recruiting career. Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, James spent more than 12 years at several legal recruiting firms in New York, successfully placing senior and executive-level candidates into in-house roles across a variety of industries as well as attorneys across all levels in AmLaw 100, mid-size and boutique law firms.
