Paul Allen

Paul D. Allen is a Partner in the Palo Alto and San Francisco offices and a member of the Partner Practice Group. Since 2008, Paul has provided confidential advice and representation to numerous law firm partners and groups in regard to optimal career opportunities and to premier law firms looking to grow or establish operations in the Bay Area. Client firms and partners see Paul as a critical source of intelligence on compelling opportunities across practice areas, as well as legal market trends, the latest market data on partner compensation and the evolving competitive landscape in the Bay Area.

Paul grew up in Portola Valley and currently resides with his wife on the Peninsula. Their two grown children are out on their own but nearby. He enjoys cycling and is a longtime supporter of the Tahirih Justice Center.

Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Paul served as executive director and division risk manager for Morgan Stanley's Global Wealth Management Group. He was a partner with Bingham McCutchen's Securities Practice in San Francisco, representing leading Wall Street financial institutions and senior management before the Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulatory agencies. Paul served as executive director with Morgan Stanley's Law Division after having been appointed first vice president and assistant general counsel. Early in his career, he was a patent litigator with Brown & Bain in Silicon Valley.
