Sheri Michaels

Sheri Michaels, a Partner with the In-House Counsel Recruiting team, is a seasoned search consultant with more than 30 years of experience. She specializes in identifying attorneys ranging from Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel to corporate counsel for in-house legal departments in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, real estate, energy, healthcare, consumer products, telecommunications, retail, technology, pharmaceuticals, not-for-profit, professional services and financial services. Over the course of her career, Sheri has also supported building associate and partner teams within law firms nationally.

Given the breadth of her practice, Sheri is well-known in the industry among general counsel and partners and prides her on the long-standing client relationships she has developed over the years. She is seen as a strategic counselor and advisor and excels at building high-performance legal teams to support her clients’ business objectives. Through deep, meaningful conversation, Sheri seeks to learn about her client's underlying business and hiring objectives as well as their unique internal culture. She then creates an effective search strategy tailored to the specific needs of each client. In her more than 30 years as a leading legal search professional, Sheri has successfully recruited general counsel, deputy general counsel and associate counsel for prominent multinational and domestic corporations and financial services companies. She also has successfully placed partners, groups, counsel and associates into top-tier global, national and regional law firms.

Sheri began her legal career with the New York office of Coopers & Lybrand in their Personal Financial Planning Group. Ultimately, she decided to leave the practice of law and enter the legal recruiting arena.
