Tanja Albers

Tanja Albers is a Partner with the EMEA In-House Counsel Practice. She opened the Amsterdam office in 2016 and has been instrumental in growing and developing it further.

Since 2004, Tanja has worked on a wide variety of in-house placements, specialising in general counsel and senior-level legal and compliance searches internationally for multinational corporations. Tanja consults and partners with these multinationals, not only focusing on recruitment but also on the retention of their in-house legal departments across EMEA and globally. She has placed hundreds of lawyers and compliance professionals covering the full spectrum of practice areas. She enjoys the interaction with clients and candidates and is consistently recognized for the excellent level of service she provides them. Tanja also works closely with the market-leading teams across offices in EMEA, the U.S., Asia and Australia to ensure they provide best-in-class service and the clients are being matched with the best candidates to fill critical and strategic positions within their organizations.

Tanja is a qualified Dutch lawyer, a former litigator, who practiced law for seven years at one of the top-tier firms in The Netherlands (Houthoff Buruma) before moving into international legal and compliance search and selection. Tanja is a subject-matter expert on the legal and compliance market. She regularly serves on panels and webinars, speaking on a variety of topics including the legal landscape and its variety in different countries across the globe, the difference in compensation packages, career planning and other topics that are of interest to lawyers. Tanja has more than 17 years of experience, matching the clients with the best talent for general counsel, chief compliance officer and other senior legal counsel positions across EMEA. A Dutch national, Tanja has also lived and worked in Germany and France and is fluent in 4 languages: Dutch, English, French and German.
