James Lopez Olvera is currently serving as an Immigrant Justice Corps Fellow at Make the Road New York since September 2023. Prior to this role, James held positions including Lawyers of Color Fellow from October 2020 to September 2023, and completed internships at the New York City Law Department and the Office of the New York State Attorney General. Academic achievements include a Doctor of Law (JD) from Boston College Law School (2020-2023) and a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Latin American and Latinx Studies/Criminal Justice from John Jay College (CUNY) (2016-2020). Notable experiences also include research assistantship under Dr. Jodie Roure and judicial internships at Kings County and Richmond County Civil Supreme Courts.
