Lizzie Nelson

Lizzie Nelson is a Spacecraft Test Engineer at Malin Space Science Systems Inc, currently leading integration and testing for the Mars Stationary Orbiter. Previous experience includes roles as an Associate Spaceship Propulsion Test Engineer and Spaceship Propulsion Intern at Virgin Galactic, as well as an Avionics Mechanical Design Intern at The Spaceship Company. Lizzie founded the SEDSxFEM Project at SEDS UCSD, focusing on mentorship and design challenges for first-year female engineers. With a strong background in aerospace engineering, including significant contributions to team-based projects and initiatives aimed at promoting inclusivity in engineering, Lizzie has demonstrated leadership and technical skills throughout various positions since 2016. Education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from UC San Diego.
