Escarlata Muñoz

Project Engineer at Malta Inc.

Escarlata joined Malta with a background in electrical power plant design and construction execution. With over 7 years of experience in the design of electrical systems, main electrical equipment, defining technical specifications, purchasing of electrical equipment, performing factory acceptance tests and inspections of power plants. Escarlata was responsible for the engineering supervision of the concentrated solar tower power plant, Cerro Dominator 110 MW in Chile and worked in the engineering and construction of Khi Solar 50 MW in South Africa. Her work experience includes the definition of the technical specification, the supervision of the layout, working with technical supplier documentation of electrical equipment for big combined cycle power plants in projects and countries, like Latvia, Algeria, Spain and Greece. In her time with Abeinsa EPC, she was responsible for the electrical engineers’ team, coordinating a budget of more than 20M€, reviewing the detailed engineering and was in charge of the negotiations with the suppliers and handled the relative technical documentation.

Escarlata started her career as an electrical equipment expert for EA (Empresarios Agrupados) in 2009 developing detailed engineering for combined cycle power plants. During her career she has collaborated in the engineering design of more than 3000MW of installed power plant capacity.

Escarlata has a Master of Science degree as Industrial Engineer with specialization in Electricity from the UPM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain).
