Mike Boisclair

Application Engineering Manager at Malta Inc.

Mike Boisclair came to Malta with 35+ years of experience at GE Gas Power where he held increasingly responsible roles in application engineering, turbomachinery design and product development.

Most recently, he was Senior Regional Customer Application Engineer for North America and the Caribbean. Over the last nine years, Mr. Boisclair has partnered with many customers to optimize gas turbine and combined cycle plant configurations and support customers' early-phase development technical decisions, strategies, permitting and economic evaluations. He contributed to the teams’ successful development of over 6 GW of simple cycle and combined cycle plants, ranging from simple-cycle aeroderivative plants to H-class combined cycle plants with capacity exceeding 1,000 MW.

Prior GE experience included 10 years leading international teams responsible for developing initial combined cycle plant design concepts into firm proposals, equipment specifications and culminating in plant COD performance testing support. He also led a customer focused steam turbine aerodynamic team improving steam turbine power density, advanced steam modelling methods and rig testing. Early career work focused on turbomachinery aerodynamic design incorporating advanced design methods to optimize performance, mechanical and heat transfer requirements.

Mr. Boisclair earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and his Master's in Engineering from M.I.T. He holds a patent for a novel steam cooled turbine airfoil design, and is a registered Professional Engineer in NY state. He has also been a volunteer firefighter since 1996.
