Janice Chen

Co-Founder & CTO at Mammoth Biosciences

Janice Chen is the co-founder and CTO of Mammoth Biosciences. Janice was previously a graduate student researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, where they studied how DNA-cutting CRISPR proteins recognize and cut their target to enable more precise gene-editing tools and design proteins with novel functions. Janice also worked as a research technician at Harvard Medical School and as a research intern at the KwaZulu-Natal Research Institute for TB - HIV (K-RITH). Janice Chen received their undergraduate degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Janice Chen has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Janice also has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Molecular and Cellular Biology from The Johns Hopkins University.

Janice Chen reports to Trevor Martin, Co-founder & CEO. They work with Dimitrios Zisoulis - VP, Genome Engineering, Keith Abe - Director, In Vivo, and Jenny Speer - Director of People. Some direct reports include Phil Lee - Director of Engineering, Tim Patno - SVP, Product Development, Diagnostics, and Shaun Llaguno - Mechanical Technician.
