Geoff Brown

Geoff Brown serves as a Strategic Advisor and Board Member at Powin since April 2016, previously holding the position of CEO, where leadership focused on the design, manufacturing, and delivery of Li-ion based energy storage systems to global utility and commercial customers. Prior to Powin, Geoff Brown was President at NRG Energy, overseeing customer sales, contract negotiation, and project management for renewable microgrid initiatives. Experience also includes serving as Director of Business Development at Beacon Power LLC, where development of flywheel energy storage solutions was prioritized, and Director of Origination and Resource Analysis at Element Power, managing wind power sales and resource assessment. At Garrad Hassan, Geoff Brown managed energy and development services, leading wind resource assessments for a significant portion of North America's wind farm capacity from 2005 to 2009. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and a Master of Science in Renewable Technology from Loughborough University.
