Mark van Engelen has over 25 years of experience in the financial sector. Mark began their career as an intern at Barclays Investment Bank before moving to Murray State University, where they taught economics. In 1996, they joined NN Investment Partners as a portfolio manager for investment funds.
In 2001, van Engelen became the chief investment officer and managing director for AXA, where they worked for seven years. During their time at AXA, they also served on the board and as the chairman of the ALM committee. In 2008, they left AXA to join SNS Reaal as the chief investment officer and managing director. Mark held this position for three years before leaving in 2011 to join AXA Private Equity as an advisory board member.
In their current role at ASR, van Engelen is responsible for fund and external management.
Mark van Engelen received their bachelor of science from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and their masters of science from Murray State University. Mark also attended New York University.
