Blake Burgess

Blake Burgess is a seasoned engineering professional currently serving as the North Island Engineering Manager at Manawa Energy since July 2024. Prior to this role, Blake held various positions at Mercury NZ from April 2019 to July 2024, including Control Systems Site Support Team Leader and Senior Control Systems Engineer. Experience at Trustpower involved roles such as Communications and Control Systems Engineer and Graduate Electrical Engineer from April 2016 to March 2019. Blake contributed to a Master’s thesis project on the impacts of emerging technologies while at Orion NZ Ltd in late 2015, and earlier served as an Engineering Cadet at Eastland Group Limited from November 2010 to February 2015. Blake holds a Master of Engineering in Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Canterbury.
