Karen Flax

Karen Flax is an accomplished attorney currently serving as Of Counsel at Mandell Menkes LLC since July 2024. With extensive experience in the legal field, Karen held the position of Vice President/Deputy General Counsel at Tribune Publishing Company from May 2014 to June 2024, where advice was provided to all levels of the organization, including the executive leadership. Prior to that, Karen was the VP Legal for the Chicago Tribune Media Group, overseeing legal matters for its publications and facilities. Karen's legal career began as a law clerk for Judge Hubert L. Will in the Northern District of Illinois, followed by a role as a Litigation Partner at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP. Educational credentials include a B.A. from New College of Florida and law degrees from the University of Miami School of Law and New York University School of Law.
