Raul V. Destura

Raul V. Destura is the current CEO and founder of Manila HealthTek. Raul has also been a consultant and director for The Medical City since 2007. Prior to their current positions, Destura served as chair of the Institutional Biosafety and Biosecurity Committee from 2015 to 2018. Raul was also the director of the health division at Philippine Genome Center from 2016 to 2019. Before that, they held various positions at different companies, including deputy executive director at National Institutes of Health-University of the Philippines and president & CEO of First Golden Sunrise Ventures Inc.

Raul V. Destura earned their Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Sto. Tomas. Raul then completed an internship in medicine at the University of the Philippines before earning their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from De La Salle University. Destura went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at De La Salle University and a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of the Philippines. Raul is currently a research fellow in emerging infectious disease at the University of Virginia.
