Matt Maufe

Matt Maufe is a Machine Learning Engineer at MantisNLP, focusing on applying Transformers and LLM/GPT models to solve engineering problems for various customers since July 2024. Previously, at Filament Syfter from October 2021 to July 2024, Matt led R&D projects on LLM-based Extractive Question Answering and Named Entity Recognition while contributing to internal knowledge bases. In an earlier role as a KTP Associate, significant work was done on generating synthetic data and knowledge graphs. Previous experience includes a Data Science Internship at Moogsoft, web development at gloversure, and educational roles, including leading a programming contest team and serving as an IT Teaching Assistant. Matt holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from The University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and AI from Aberystwyth University.
