Steve N. has extensive experience in the automotive and engineering sectors, primarily focusing on transmission and driveline systems. Currently serving as Interim Sector Director for the Built Environment and Chief Technologist at MTC since October 2017, Steve leads technical initiatives, particularly within the Construction Innovation Hub. Prior roles at Jaguar Land Rover from April 2011 to October 2017 include Chief Technologist and TRANSCEND Manager, where Steve oversaw the development of innovative transmission technologies. Additional experience encompasses leadership positions at SAIC Motor Technical Centre, Ricardo 2010 Consultants Ltd, and Powertrain Ltd, along with significant contributions to MG Rover Group and Land Rover in transmission engineering. Steve holds a B. Eng (Hons) degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Kingston University.

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) develops and proves innovative manufacturing processes and technologies in an agile, low risk environment, in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. They focus on delivering bespoke manufacturing system solutions for their customers.They operate some of the most advanced manufacturingequipment in the world, and employ a team of highly skilled engineers, many of whom are leading experts in their field. This creates a high quality environment for the development and demonstration of new processes and technologies on an industrial scale.The MTC’s areas of expertise are directly relevant to both large and small companies, and are applicable across a wide range of industry sectors. The MTC’s members include global manufacturing companies from multiple sectors.
