Alaa Aljanaby currently serves as the Head of School for Digital Technologies at Manukau Institute of Technology since May 2025. Prior to this role, Alaa held various positions including Programme Manager at Navitas for the University of Waikato College from June 2021 to April 2025, and Academic Manager at Aspire2 International from February 2015 to June 2021, where Alaa also led the Graduate Diploma in IT program. Previous experience includes serving as Head of the Computer Science Section and Assistant Professor at the University of Nizwa from March 2007 to December 2014, as well as lecturing at Zarka University and Shatt El-Arab University College. Alaa Aljanaby holds a PhD in Information Technology specializing in AI from Universiti Utara Malaysia and has additional degrees in Computer Science from the University of Basrah, along with a NZ Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching from Open Polytechnic of New Zealand.
