Dr. Mohamad S.

Dr. Mohamad S. has a wide range of work experience. In 2017, they were the Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Manzil, where they helped ethically-conscious people balance their financial needs with their ethical and spiritual obligations. In 2018, they were the Lead Assessor at the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program. In 2019, they were a Shareholder at ShariaPortfolio, Inc. and a 2019 Cohort at Holt Accelerator. In 2020, they were the Advisor to the Board at Sitti Social Enterprise Limited, the Chair of the Advisory Council at UNHCR Canada, the Incubator Program at The DMZ, and the NEXT Founders 2020 Cohort at NEXT Canada. Finally, in 2021, they were the Lead Assessor at the Dubai Government Excellence Program.

Dr. Mohamad S. has a long history of education and certifications. Dr. Mohamad obtained their Hon. B.Sc from the University of Toronto in 2007, majoring in Cell & Systems Biology & Physiology. Dr. Mohamad then completed an International Exchange Program at SDA Bocconi in 2015. Following this, they earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management in 2016, focusing on Corporate Finance, Management, and Leadership. In 2018, they obtained two certifications from the IFSE Institute, the Partners, Directors, and Senior Officers Course and the Exempt Market Proficiency Course. Dr. Mohamad then completed their MSc. in Business Management & Research at Henley Business School in 2018, focusing on Corporate Governance of Family Owned Firms. Currently, Dr. Mohamad S. is pursuing their Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) at Henley Business School, focusing on Islamic Finance, Financial Exclusion & Inclusion. Dr. Mohamad also holds a Branch Managers Course, Compliance, Securities Law and Fraud Detection certification from The Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) obtained in 2009.
