Paul Boyd has a diverse work experience. Paul has worked as a Member at Large for the Alabama STAR Program, an advocacy group that provides assistive technology to people with disabilities in Alabama. Paul also served as a Member of the Shelby-Jefferson VR Council on Disabilities. In 1999, they founded and directed the Montevallo Accessibility Project, which aims to increase accessibility in Montevallo. Paul was also an Alumnus and community service liaison for the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Furthermore, they founded the White Carnation Fund, an organization that benefited low-income housing residents and provided Christmas dinners to those in need. Paul also worked as a laborer, craftsman, and entertainer at the Evergreen Christmas Tree Farm. Paul gained experience as an Assistant Manager of Stock at Winn-Dixie and worked as a lowly laborer at Firehouse Pizza.

Paul Boyd's education history includes a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Montevallo, which they obtained from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in English from the same university, from 1999 to 2007. Before pursuing their Bachelor's degree, Paul attended the University of Alabama from 1998 to 1999, where they completed general studies. Additionally, they attended Troy University from 1994 to 1995, studying Print Journalism. In the preceding years, from 1993 to 1995, Paul also pursued a degree in Education at Troy University.
