Serguei Taran

Serguei Taran currently serves as the Chief Operating Engineer at Maple Leaf Foods Inc since August 2018, bringing extensive experience in plant operations. Prior to this role, Serguei worked at TransAlta from 2008 to 2018, where responsibilities included Plant Operation Supervisor and Assistant Chief Operating Engineer, as well as Shift Engineer. Previous positions also include Shift Engineer at Magna - Polycon Industries from 2004 to 2008 and Stationary Engineer at Better Beef Limited from 2003 to 2004. Serguei began a career in plant operations as a Plant Operator at Husky Oil Operations Limited in 2002. Educational qualifications include a Power Engineering Technology Diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) (2001-2003) and a Bachelor's degree in Political and Social Science from Novosibirsk (1986-1990).
