José Ramón Vázquez Canteli

José Vázquez Canteli has held a variety of roles in the fields of machine learning. He began working as a Machine Learning Engineer at Mapped in 2021. He has research expertise in multi-agent reinforcement learning, building energy simulation, and energy optimization. He earned his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, in 2020, where he developed CityLearn and continued to work as a postdoctoral researcher. During his PhD he also interned at Siemens and NREL. Jose holds a bachelor's degree in electromechanical engineering, a master's degree in electrical engineering, and completed the last year of his master's program, and master's thesis, at EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) in Switzerland.
