Jim B.

Jim B. has extensive work experience in various roles related to analytics, business intelligence, and implementation engineering. Jim is currently working at Maravai LifeSciences as a Senior Director, responsible for delivering data-driven decision-making tools and strategies. Prior to that, they worked at Takeda as a Senior Implementation Engineer, where they integrated financial systems and implemented an analytics platform. Before Takeda, Jim was at Shire, where they consulted on actionable dashboards and data models. Jim also has experience at Hologic, Inc., where they led the creation of a Global Business Intelligence Center of Excellence, and at Hologic (Formerly Gen-Probe) as a Director, leading strategic change initiatives and implementing enterprise-wide analytics capabilities. Additionally, they have worked in faculty positions at UC San Diego Extension and in healthcare project management at Robbins-Gioia, LLC. Jim started their career as a Medical Sales Representative at Alcon Laboratories, Inc. and also served as a Military Officer in the United States Air Force, specializing in cost analysis for advanced programs.

Jim B. completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Economics from the United States Air Force Academy between 1987 and 1991. Jim then pursued an MBA from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business from 1992 to 1994. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in November 2004 and the New Product Development Professional (NPDP) certification from the Product Development and Management Association of Southern California (PDMA SoCal) in 2003. In 2015, they also acquired the QlikView 11 Designer and QlikView 11 Developer certifications from Qlik.
